If you intend to apply to a SELPA in order to become an LEA for purposes of special education, or if you already are an LEA for purposes of special education and intend to leave your current SELPA and join a new one, a letter such as this should be sent to your authorizer, current SELPA, the California Department of Education, and the California Charter Schools Association by June 30 of the year preceding the year in which you intend to join the new SELPA.
