MEDIA ADVISORY: Families Rally To Put Legislators on Notice About Voting on Charter School Bills

(Richmond, California) - More than 100 hundred parents, students, teachers and charter leaders will gather and stand in unity to send a message that votes on legislation in Sacramento impacting charters public schools are important to Richmond families.
Rally to educate our elected legislative representatives that families deeply care about votes that positively and negatively affect charter schools and our children.

To demonstrate that families, teachers and charter school leaders care about conversations taking place in Sacramento on proposed legislation that will take away charter schools' independence and will make it easier to deny charters as well as proposed legislation to help charters serve more kids with better facilities and programs. And to send a strong message to elected officials like Assemblymember Tony Thurmond that families in Richmond are counting on him to lead on important issues affecting all public schools. Parents and teachers will be available to speak to the media.
