Governor Jerry Brown has reappointed CCSA's Senior Special Education Advisor Gina Plate to the California Advisory Commission on Special Education (ACSE). Gina was first appointed by the Governor to the Commission in September 2012 and was appointed chair on May 1, 2014, after serving as the vice chair.

ACSE is an advisory body that provides recommendations and advice to the Governor, the Superintendent of Public Instruction, the State Board of Education, and the California Legislature regarding new or continuing areas of research, program development, and evaluation in California special education.

"It is an honor to serve the students and families of California as we work together to ensure high quality options for all students and to make a substantial impact on how students with special needs are educated in California in both charter public schools as well as traditional public schools," said Gina.

Visit the ACSE website for more information about the Commission and details on recent and upcoming meetings.
