(Long Beach, California) - More than 4,000 charter public school leaders, teachers, supporters and advocates will gather to inspire academic excellence, operational integrity and unity among charter schools throughout California at the annual four-day event hosted by the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA) March 14-17, 2016. This year's conference theme, March to One Million, speaks to the growth, momentum and opportunity in California's charter school movement. California is home to the largest number of charter schools in the nation, with an estimated 581,100 students attending 1,230 schools, and an additional 158,000 students on waitlists. The California Charter Schools Conference offers resources, guidance and advocacy supports to the charter movement. Conference programming will feature charter school tours and the most relevant topics valued by charter school professionals in various formats including: plenary sessions, summits, breakout sessions, deep dives, and poster sessions. Over 300 exhibiting companies will offer attendees tools, resources and cutting-edge products to meet their unique needs. Nine Hart Vision Awards will be announced in recognition of outstanding leadership and excellence in education. Ten deserving students graduating from CCSA member charter schools will be given $2,000 Susan Steelman Bragato Scholarship Awards.
