April 8, 2016
Aspen Public School is being modeled after the successful Valley Preparatory Academy Charter School and will open this summer at 2811 Mariposa Avenue in Fresno. It will serve more than 300 students up to the 8th grade and will focus on students in economically disadvantaged areas.
"We are thrilled that the Walton Family Foundation invested in our efforts to increase high-quality education for students in Fresno," said Shelly Lether, executive director of Valley Preparatory Academy. "We are making strides for our students and gaining traction - our community wants more and that's what inspired Aspen Public School."
Aspen Public School was awarded the $250,000 grant after an intensive application and interview process.
