#CCSACon 17: Presentation Submissions - What Makes a Great Session? Deadline 10/14
September 23, 2016
Want to showcase your work and share best practices with the charter community that will affect positive change in schools across the state? Consider hosting a break away session at Conference. Proposals are due by midnight (PST) on Friday, Oct. 14.
Attendees of the The 24th Annual CCSA Conference are looking for:
- Interactive sessions in which they can be active contributors to the conversation; and,
- Ways to utilize the content presented at their school in their daily work.
Here are three tips to keep in mind while developing your presentation proposal:
Include interactive facilitation techniques. According to 2016 evaluation data, attendees were more likely to give a session a higher overall rating if the presentation offered a high level of audience participation.
Feature school leaders, teachers, parents and community members as presenters. Share real life stories of engagement in the charter movement by co-presenting with school leaders, teachers, CCSA staff, and/or exhibitors/vendors you are working with.
Offer clear takeaways. Offer practical models, techniques and materials that are easily adaptable and can be implemented. Presentations that offered applicable skills were rated much higher overall by conference attendees in 2016.
Before submitting a proposal, please review all of the 2017 CCSA Call for Proposals Guidelines.
Don't forget to register now! Early Bird Registration offers significant discounts to registrants who apply now through Oct. 28. Register with a purchase order to lock-in your low rate. You won't have to pay until March 2017.
