CCSA Has Teachers Covered at the 25th Annual California Charter Schools Conference
February 2, 201825th Annual California Charter Schools Conference held March 26 to 28, 2018 at the San Diego Convention Center will provide opportunities for learning, sharing and networking for teachers with multiple types of programming and events. In 2018, CCSA is proud to host over 30 breakout and poster sessions designed specifically for charter school teachers on everything from student engagement to common core to blended learning. Below is suggested programming for teachers to ensure they get the most out of the event!
Teacher Summit Opening Session: The Power of Video Observation for Professional Growth
In this session, Dr. Michael Moody will discuss the use of video observation as a common frame of reference for Teacher Growth with focus on findings from Harvard University's Best Foot Forward Project. We will explore how the use of video provides for a more fair and transparent observation environment, allows for a greater frequency of both formal and informal feedback, and encourages teacher self-reflection.
In the Classroom/Teacher Breakout Sessions
Breakout sessions focusing on the classroom and geared towards the teacher audience are some of the most well-attended events at the annual conference. The goal of these sessions is to provide outstanding content regarding best practices for teachers.
Special Education Summit
These Special Education sessions will provide outstanding content for charter school professionals working with special education students.
The poster sessions in the Teacher Expo will provide an opportunity for a small group of attendees to interact in an informal environment with a subject matter expert. Presenter will illustrate their content by displaying graphs, photos and diagrams on poster boards.
Individual/Online Learning Breakout Sessions
Provide teachers with best practices for individualized and online learning programs.
STEM and Technology Breakout and Poster Sessions
Provide outstanding content regarding STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs and technology use in schools.
