Last Saturday, over 800 California charter public school students, parents, teachers, and advocates, led by Assemblymember Blanca Rubio and school leader Margaret Fortune, marched and met with approximately 350 Democratic Party delegates at the California Democratic Convention in San Diego. They shared their progressive values and demonstrated that charter schools are providing a great education to all students regardless of zip code, income or ability level.

This groundbreaking collective action by the charter public school movement caught the attention of those in attendance at the Convention, including news outlets such as La Comadre, the OC Register, and more.

Hats off to California's charter public schools - you are making a major difference in the lives of students across the state.
