Proposition 51, the K-14 School Facilities Bond, passed on November 8, 2016 with 55% of the vote. Proposition 51 includes $500 million for charter public school facilities. Applications for bond funds will not be available for a few months. In the meantime, join CCSA on Thursday, December 15 from 1-2 p.m. for a webinar on the State School Facilities Bond program and how charter schools can participate in the program.
Under Prop. 39 regulations, school districts were required to express any objections to ADA projections contained in charter school Prop. 39 facilities requests by December 1, 2016. Charter schools must respond to the district’s objections by either reaffirming or modifying the charter school’s previous projections as necessary by January 2, 2017, or the district’s ADA projections cannot be challenged.
