Under the Prop. 39 regulations, a charter school must respond to the district’s concerns by either reaffirming or modifying its previous projections as necessary to respond to those concerns. If you fail to respond to the district by January 2, 2013, then the district’s ADA projections provided in its December 1 letter are no longer subject to challenge.

The LAUSD resolution that threatened to impose financial penalties on nine schools with Prop 39 facilities that were under-enrolled in 2011-12 was amended and delayed for implementation until the 2013-14 school year.

CCSA filed a motion in its ongoing case against Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) that challenged LAUSD’s compliance with Prop. 39, the state law that requires school districts to share facilities with charter schools. The briefing in the case is complete and the Court of Appeal has scheduled argument in the matter on November 28, 2012.

LAUSD Superintendent Affirms Commitment to Develop Long Term Facilities Program
