Today, CCSA President and CEO Myrna Castrejón released the following statement in response to the passing of former Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Superintendent, Dr. Michelle King:
"I loved working with Michelle King. From her many years as a teacher and administrator, she had a deep and clear understanding of the reality of the lives of students and families in LAUSD. Dr. King dedicated her life to education and to helping generations of students in Los Angeles realize their dreams. As Superintendent, Michelle was a visionary leader who supported the replication of innovative schools and was focused on finding new ways to best meet the needs of each student. I respected her thoughtfulness and commitment to collaboration as a critical pathway to opening up opportunities for all kids."
