Marco Lopez currently serves as Director on the Central Valley Local Advocacy team. Marco is an active proponent of education equity, and has worked on charter school advocacy efforts since 2009. His focus on closing the rural and urban student opportunity gaps, increasing parental involvement in all aspects of education, and enhancing access to academia are central to his overall objectives.
Marco is originally from Coalinga-Huron, California. He graduated from Fresno Pacific University, and eventually made his way up to Sacramento 13 years ago. He worked with California State University-Sacramento, Athletics; where he helped develop academic support programs for at-risk scholars within the Student-Athlete Resource Center (S.A.R.C). Marco has held multiple roles in the charter school sector that have ranged from External Affairs Officer, Athletic Director, and Educator. Prior to joining CCSA, Marco was part of the Fortune Schools Admissions, Communication and Marketing Department.
