Jessica Newburn

Jessica Newburn is the Vice President, School Quality Support on CCSA’s Schools team. In this role, she leads the creation of tools and resources to support charter schools in their academic growth journey from development to renewal. Prior to joining CCSA in 2018, Jessica was a school leader in Oakland. As assistant principal at Berkley Maynard Academy, she led the k-8 intervention and special education programs; and focused on instructional coaching and professional development. As principal of Aspire College Academy, she reworked the entire instructional program including aligning curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices to the Common Core standards and introduced a behavioral health program integrating special education, mental health supports, and academic intervention. Jessica has an MA in School Leadership from the Principal Leadership Institute at UC Berkeley and a BA in Psychology from Cornell University. She loves taking her two kids on nature walks.
