CCSA To Host Special Education Webinar on Tuesday, April 7, 2020
Los Angeles – Today, the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA) launched special education distance learning resources on its website for educators to learn best practices for K-12 schools working to institute effective online education programs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In this moment of crisis, our responsibility for each and every student has never been greater, that's why CCSA is aggregating best practices and resources to help charter school leaders implement practical academic programs for students, including students with disabilities,” said CCSA President and CEO, Myrna Castrejón. “These resources may be helpful in ensuring that the needs of their students are met appropriately and effectively.”
The special needs learning resources will provide educators with a framework that is intentional and operational at school sites. CCSA offers guidance on: Delivery of Special Education Services, Creating Your Framework and Planning with your Team, Federal and State Resources and Educator Resources to Support Remote Learning, as well as tips and ideas from California leaders. These resources are available at: https://info.ccsa.org/special-education-distance-learning
Additionally, to provide educators with real time support, CCSA will host a Special Education Guidance & Support webinar on Tuesday, April 7, from 9:00 am - 10:30 am, featuring leaders from across the State that will discuss best practices and answer questions regarding special education. Details about the webinar will be announced soon.
