Justine Gonzalez leads and supports policy and advocacy efforts for member schools throughout Los Angeles County. Prior to joining the Local Advocacy Team, Justine served as a public affairs and diversity and inclusion consultant to partner organizations such as the LA Coalition for Excellent Public Schools and Speak Up! Parents United. Her career spans from serving as an intergovernmental relations aide to Mayors Antonio Villaraigosa and Eric Garcetti to serving as President of the City of Los Angeles Human Relations Commission.

Justine is a Bronx, New York native who proudly identifies as an Angeleno - having lived in Los Angeles for more than 16 years. She attended public schools, is a graduate of LAUSD, and studied at Pasadena City College and California State University, Northridge.

She enjoys going on hikes, trail running, and ran her first 5K (along with joining her daughter for her first kids’ 1/2K) in early 2020.
