Nearly 30 percent of California’s top 100 schools listed are public charter schools
Los Angeles - The recently released 2020 U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings includes three charter public schools among the top 10 high schools in the Golden State. And nearly 30 percent of California’s top 100 schools are charter schools, but account for approximately ten percent of the State’s public schools.
“Our number one priority is ensuring that every child has an opportunity to reach their full potential,” said Myrna Castrejón, President and CEO of the California Charter Schools Association. “We are pleased to see the positive impact charter schools are having on families in helping their child succeed. A charter public school education offers students from all backgrounds an opportunity to a high-quality education.”
The U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings reviews more than 24,000 public high schools from across the country, including 2,605 high schools in California. Overall, 1,612 of the State’s public schools made the list.
