Ana Tintocalis

Ana is Senior Director of Media Relations and Research and a member of CCSA’s External Affairs Team. In this role, she supports the organization’s mission through creative and effective communications platforms that increase public awareness and support for high-quality public charter schools. Additionally, she will help amplify positive local charter school stories happening to win hearts and minds in target media markets across the state.

Before her time with the CCSA, Ana was the senior manager of communications at the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE), a statewide agency that partners with the California State Board of Education (SBE), the California Department of Education (CDE), and education stakeholder groups to address the most pressing needs of local educational agencies (LEAs).

Ana is a former award-winning education journalist who spent more than a decade reporting for KQED-San Francisco and KPBS-San Diego, two of the state’s premiere National Public Radio (NPR) member stations. Her stories about how policy effects students, parents and educators garnered state and national awards.

Ana is a California native and lives in Sacramento with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys being creative in everything she does – from sewing to storytelling.
