Gregory McGinity is the Senior Vice President of Civic Affairs and the Executive Director for CCSA Advocates. Previously, Mr. McGinity served as the Executive Director of The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation, where he led the Foundation’s investments in education programs, policy, advocacy and research aimed at improving public urban education. While at the Foundation, Mr. McGinity took a leave of absence to serve as the Chief of Staff to the California Secretary of Education. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mr. McGinity was the Senior Education Policy Consultant to the California State Board of Education and served on the legislative staffs of two Members of Congress. Mr. McGinity also served a Legislative Liaison in the Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs at the U.S. Department of Education.
A native of Los Angeles, Mr. McGinity received his bachelor’s degree in history and political science from UC Berkeley and an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School, where he was a Sigoloff Fellow. Mr. McGinity has served as a Fellow at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. He is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Education.
