Julie is the Vice President of Legal Advocacy and Executive Director of the Charter Schools Legal Defense Fund. Before joining CCSA in 2004, Julie represented charter schools, school districts, and other public agencies at a national law firm. She also spent 8 years on the High Tech High governing board. Julie attended California public schools and graduated from UCLA before heading to Tulane Law School. She lives in San Diego with her husband and three children and is a devoted soccer mom.
