Kasey Kokenda is a Director, Greater Los Angeles, on the Local Advocacy team. Kasey supports advocacy, political and communications campaigns within Los Angeles County, Ventura County and Santa Barbara County in the areas of authorization and oversight, charter renewals, new petitions, and other policy areas that impact our schools and communities.
Kasey is a native Angeleno and is passionate about advancing educational equity. She has over a decade of experience working in both the education and political spaces, both in the United States and Abroad, including as a teacher, in the Education Department at UNESCO, for a California State Assemblywoman turned State Senator, and most recently as an Advisor to LAUSD's School Board Vice President. Kasey earned a Master's Degree in Education Policy and Management from Harvard University. In her free time, she is an avid world traveler, and adores spending time with her nephews, family, friends, and her cat, Mia Crunch.
