Nicolas Watson

Nicolas serves as the Managing Director of Regulatory Affairs, where his work focuses on advocating for equitable charter school policies by state policy making bodies including the State Board of Education, the California Department of Education, the California School Finance Authority, and the State Allocation Board. 

Prior to joining CCSA, Nicolas practiced law for 11 years, working primarily on transactional real estate and land use matters. Before law school, he served as a legislative aide to United States Senator Richard H. Bryan in Washington D.C., where he worked on policy issues including housing and urban development, banking and finance, and taxation. He has also served as a policy advisor to San Jose City Councilmember Margie Matthews.

Nicolas obtained a B.A. and J.D. from the University of San Diego.
